ABOUT THE PRO
Dr. Lawrence Tong attended undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario, and Medical School at the University of Toronto. To pursue his dreams of becoming a surgeon following medical school, Dr. Tong went to the world-renowned University of Michigan Medical Center, in Ann Arbor, where he underwent training in Plastic and Reconstructive surgery.
Over the years, Dr. Lawrence Tong has built a thriving practice, and loyal patient following and we are proud to be affiliated with him today.

WHAT IS IT
BOTOX®
Botulinum toxin or BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into specific muscles to improve the appearance of wrinkle lines. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a popular non-surgical option to reduces or eliminate frown lines between the eyebrows, forehead creases, crows feet (lines around the eyes), and muscular bands in the neck without any downtime. BOTOX® Cosmetic has also been found to be effective in relieving consistent migraine/ headaches sufferers, and those who experience complications like excessive sweating (known as Hyperhydrosis).
This product is injected directly into the muscles and it works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, thereby reducing that specific muscle's activity which in turn helps prevent the gradual formation of moderate to severe lines in the dermis. This should not be the case if it is used in an appropriate manner, and administered by a properly trained healthcare professional. This point stresses the importance of choosing a trusted certified plastic surgeon for your BOTOX® treatment.
“If you stop having BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments, your wrinkles will come back worse than they were previously”

This is not true; if you choose to stop your BOTOX® Cosmetic treatments and allow the effects to wear off completely, the muscles will ‘wake up’, and function just as they did before. There is no ‘rebound’ effect to the muscles which makes the lines worse.
POST-BOTOX®
COSMETIC TREATMENT INFORMATION
The BOTOX® Cosmetic injections is a fairly straight forward procedure and one that Dr. Tong will confirm that you are in fact a candidate for the procedure.
We ask patients not to take medications that can thin the blood (eg. Motrin, aspirin) for 10 days prior to their injections. The effect of BOTOX® Cosmetic is temporary, and generally lasts anywhere between 4 to 8 months pending on the are injected and how often those muscles are typically used.
You will be asked to create the lines by frowning, squinting, or raising the brows. A number of small injections with a very small needle are placed strategically, customized to your anatomy.
The actual procedure lasts less than 5 minutes, and you can go back to your normal activities immediately after your appointment.
Treatment cost is $13 per/unit and will be administered by Dr. Tong personally.
DERMAL HYALURONIC ACID (HA) BASED FILLERS
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers are used to soften fine lines as well as help contour areas that help to stimulate natural collagen production to some extent (increasing tissue volume in the area injected). The duration of improvement after injection varies from six to twelve months, depending onthe area of application and the product’s specific chemical properties.
The different properties of various HA fillers are due to the differing hyaluronic acid concentrations and which filler product used for you will be discussed further during your appointment. HA Products available; included but not limited to, Juvederm® - Ultra XC®, Volbella®, Voluma®, Volift™, Restylane®,Restylane fine lines®, Perlane®, Radiesse® and Selphyl®.
